VIDEO: Check out the poor state of dining tables of Pope John SHS

MyNewsGh.com has sighted a video on dining hall tables of one of Ghana’s reputable Senior High Schools (SHSs) in the Eastern Region, and it an eyesore.

The dining tables of Pope John Senior High School (POJOSS) which has been placed at the mercy of the weather has its slabs rotten to the core attracting insects.

The video also captures an old student who is worried if other schools get to know the state of their dining tables would be a disgrace and the school will become laughing stock which could affect the psyche of students.

“This video must not go out else other schools will laugh at us” he said in the video.

“This can even force students to abandon the school, because they eat on better tables in their homes” he lamented.

It is unclear when the video was taken but it suggested, there was going to be a PTA meeting hence the parking on the table outside to the mercy of the weather.

Ghana has been going under a phase in its senior high education, since 2017 with the introduction of the Free Senior High School project on a large scale.

Chief among the challenges facing schools with the implementation of the free SHS has been infrastructure, feeding and human resources for schools.

Perhaps this latest video has exposed, yet again the need for support for senior high schools, especially when a grade A school like Pope John Senior High School is suffering, how much more other lower grade schools.
