Somanya: Three injured, one in critical condition in a road accident at Trom

 

 

Three persons have been admitted at the Atua Government Hospital in the Lower Manya Krobo Municipality following a road accident involving two vehicles at *Trom* a suburb of Somanya, the Yilo Krobo Municipal Capital.

 

The accident which occured in the evening of Monday, May 23, 2022, at about 7:30pm involved a Kia truck with the registration number AS- 1965 R.

 

The victims, a female and two males on board the Kia truck sustain severe injuries while a male pedestrian involved is also in a critical condition.

 

Narrating the incident, the victims on board the Kia truck said, they were returning from Winneba in the central Region on a mango trade before the unfortunate incident happened.

 

Upon reaching a section of the road at Trom, a Tipper truck who was about joining a lane of the highway from Somanya towards Dodowa crossed them.

 

To prevent a head-on collision, the Kia truck veered off the road and knock down a pedestrian walking by the road side, says Teye Philip, a victim onboard the Kia truck.

He added that, the car thus crushed a tree beside the roadside and overturned into the gutter.

The tipper truck who is allegedly to have caused the incident is currently on the run after the incident occurred.
