Head of communications at the Rent Control Department Emmanuel Kporsu, has revealed that owning a house does not make you a landlord.
According to Mr Kporsu, you cant call yourself a landlord if no one is renting your house neither can you call yourself a landlord if you’ve given your house out to your children.
In an interview with Ama Pomaa Kyekyeku on Dwaboase on Power979fm and Tv XYZ Mr Kporsu stated that one can only bear the title of a landlord if money is been made from the property.
‘You can’t be called a landlord if no one is renting your house. Even if you’ve given house to your kids it does not make you a landlord. The in law you can only be called a landlord after making money out of the property’ he said
