OTI REGION: POLICE COMMENCED INVESTIGATIONS ON MURDER INCIDENT AT NKONYA NTSUMURU

 

The Ghana Police have commenced investigation into the murder incident which occurred on August 1, 2022, at Nkonya Ntsumuru in the Oti Region.

 

Police Preliminary investigation disclosed that the deceased, identified as Brempong Daniel, was allegedly ambushed and shot by unknown assailants while on his way to the farm.

 

The body has since been deposited at the Kpando Margaret Marquart Catholic

 

Hospital for preservation and autopsy.

Police have intensified patrols at Nkonya and its adjoining communities to ensure law and order.

 

They urged the public to remain calm as investigation continues to get the perpetrators arrested to face justice.

BACKGROUND

 

Daniel Abotsi Brempong, a NPP Polling station executive in the Biakoye District of the Oti Region has been shot dead by unknown gunmen in Nkonya Ntsumuru on Monday evening.

According to Otixpres.com sources, the deceased informed relatives that he was going to the farm only for some persons to report to them that they had found his lifeless body in the bush, with suspected gunshot wounds in a pull of blood.

 

The deceased was a brother to the current Oti Regional NPP Research and Election Officer.

 

Police have conveyed the body to the hospital morgue for autopsy. Though no arrest has been made, police has commenced investigation to arrest all persons involved.
