O/R: One dead, several in critical condition after fatal accident on the Eastern corridor road.

A seventeen years old second year student of Okaja-krome senior high technical school dead, sixteen (16) in a critical condition after a Ford Transit vehicle with the registration number GT5814-13 carrying passengers from Kpassa in the Nkwanta North to Hohoe involved in an accident at Fankyenekor a suburb of the Nkwanta South Municipality of the Oti region on the Eastern corridor road.
The accident occurred on Wednesday February 23 ,2022 at about 12:35noon.

Sixteen persons, nine males and seven females (9male and 7 female) sustained various degrees of injuries including less than a year old child and are currently receiving treatment at the Nkwanta South Municipal Hospital and and St Joseph’s hospital in Nkwanta.

Some of the residents at the scene spoke with newsmen said, the vehicle which was fully loaded with passengers and some goods somersaulted at the outskirts of the Fankyenekor community.

They also said the driver Mr Issifu Adams was on high speed which made him lose control leading to this deadly accident.

The incident have since been reported to Nkwanta South Municipal police command who are yet to launch investigation to ascertain the actual cause of the accident.
