O/R: Nkwanta South MCE leads massive clean up exercise in Nkwanta township

The Nkwanta south municipal assembly in Oti region led by the Hon MCE , Mr Bright Kwame Lenwah on Saturday 11/6/2022 organized a clean up exercise in the Nkwanta town .

This exercise according to the MCE organized in order to clean all choked gutters in the Nkwanta town which is causing flooding in some places in town town during this raining season and to make the town also clean and to prevent all forms diseases that comes with filth.

The places targeted was Dambai junction,ST Joseph Hospital junction and mountain senai .

The clean up exercise was done successfully as a result of the support from the security services such as the police, Immigration, Fire service,NIB , the teachers and students, Bankers , health workers assembly members and the general public who came out in their numbers.

The MCE however urged the people of Nkwanta to keep the town clean by avoiding disposing of rubbish anyhow and also come out in their numbers whenever there’s such an exercise in the town because when the town is clean is clean for everyone.

” There’s a saying that cleanliness is next to Godliness and leadership by example therefore as a leader of the municipality I have to also take part in the clean up so that the people will know the need to keep their surrounding clean and I thanked for support the gave in making this exercise a success”said the MCE.

The environmental health officer for Nkwanta south,Mrs Cynthia Sekyere also stated that there’s a need for this exercise because the season comes with a lot of health issues which the people needs to be protected by keeping the environment clean and also urged the general public to keep their houses clean because their office will be visiting the various houses to inspect the the environment and if anyonefound guilty will face the accordingly.
