NPP 2024 Presidential Ticket: Alan Is The Only ‘Competent’ One We Know – Former NPP MP.

Ahead of 2024 elections, the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) are yet to decide on who to led the party as flagbearer. In opinions of some political science lectures, activist, Lawyers, current and former MP’s, party supporters and others, breaking the 8 year jinx of governance should be Alan Kyerematen the trade minister and vice president Dr Bawumia.


With different political ambitions the question stands who goes for president while the other agree for vice.

Comparing the two outstanding gentlemen in the party, Former NPP MP for Nsuta Kwamang Beposo, Kwame Asafo Adjei says comparing other NPP presidential hopefuls to Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen is “absolutely wrong”.


To him, the Trade and Industry Minister stands tall among all individuals vying to contest the presidential slot of the ruling NPP ahead of the 2024 elections.





He, however, described him as the “only competent” candidate among his peers – hence, publicly throws his support behind him to succeed President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

“He [Alan Kyerematen] is the one we know. He has worked for this party. He is the competent one, talk of the economy, he is number one,” he said in an interview with NEAT FM’s morning show, ‘Ghana Montie’.


He was commenting on Nana Akomea’s proposal for a Dr Mahamudu Bawumia/Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen ticket to lead the New Patriotic Party (NPP) into election 2024.


Kwame Asafo Adjei told host Kwesi Aboagye that the ‘Alan-Bawumia’ ticket “won’t work”.
