The Oti Regional Director of the Microfinance And Small Loan Centre (MASLOC) Mr. Abubakari Salifu has unveiled that MASLOC does not operate on the bases of partisan politics but to ensure the welfare of every Ghanaian.
Speaking on an interview with Evans Manasseh on Sankofa FM’s morning show (Good Morning Oti), He indicated that the MASLOC was established in 2006 under the watch of NPP to provide fast, easy and accessible Microcredit and Small loans for start-ups and small businesses to grow and expand those businesses but it doesn’t warrant it to be politically motivated hence whoever qualifies for the MASLOC loans will be given equal opportunities to get the loans for their intended purposes.
He explained that members from all political parties and the two most prevailing parties in the country have benefited from the MASLOC initiative and still benefiting with others serving as executive members denoting that the most important thing is being a Ghanaian who qualifies to be given the loan and after going through the necessary processes, the loans are granted.
Mr. Abubakari Salifu disclosed that there has been an office of MASLOC situated at the Oti Regional Capital, Dambai that aimed at providing loans for individuals, groups, and Small and Medium Scale Enterprises.
He added that they also provide people with tricycles, sowing machines, hair dryers and others which facilitates skills training among the indigenes of the regions to eradicate unemployment among the youths.
