Invest in Bee keeping and empower the youth in it business – Nana Ankamah appeal to government.

The 2013 nationa best bee keeping award winner in the Nana Ankama I, has appealed to government and the president Nana Addo Dankwa Akofo Addo not to turn away from bee keeping business in the country, adding that investing into it will bost our economic benefit and a product of export in the country.

He said, the demand for honey globally and expensive with a limited year of two or three in the process of starting. “We can not meet the demand of production in the country,” he said.

The chief called for support from the government such as logistics and machines that will help in processing the honey during it harvesting.

Vehicles to be carrying the bee hypes to the farms and other machineries to make them produce more honey are all needed, he added.


In their challenges, He mentioned bad nature of road network leading to their farms, making it difficult for them to transport the honey to the warehouses and also when ready for market for sale.

He again urged the government to make bee keeping awards very attractive enough to get the youth into the business, pledging his support for any youth who is ready to go into honey, adding that, it’ll better and improve their lives.

Nana Ankama made this when he invited the media to cover for this seasons harvest in the Nkwanta South Municipal of the Oti Region.

Madam Hannah Wernwer, head of project coordination at Contribyoute Germany honey expert on her tour to some of the farms realized that a lot need to be done on the farms to improve upon the production of honey.

She also appealed to the government to invest more info the business and urged the youth to also take honey business seriously to improve upon their livelihood.
