Former President of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama has promised that when given the nod in 2024 to govern Ghana again, he will run a lean government.
The man who was Ghana’s President until 2016 when he was booted out of power says in his second coming, he will run a lean government far less than anyone in the country has ever seen.
He promises to cut waste and exercise frugality in everything government does.
Apart from running a lean government, John Dramani Mahama says he will review the 1992 constitution.
The NDC flagbearer for 2020 said the review of the constitution will place a cap on the number of Supreme court Justices and also address issues with regards to article 71 office holders.
“We want to reiterate the points made by President Mahama recently that a next NDC Government will run an administration with a leaner government and far less ministers than Ghana has ever seen and ensure a cut in waste and exercise of frugality in everything Government does.”
Adding that “the NDC is also committed to the implementation of a review of the 1992 constitution which should among others, place a cap on the number of Supreme Court Justices and face the issues of Article 21 head on”.
