How Ministerial nominees for Trade and Industry wept on live TV

Earlier this week, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo nominated the Member of Parliament (MP) for Adansi Asokwa Kobina Tahir Hammond and MP for Nhyiaeso Dr. Stephen Amoah alias Sticka Minister of Trade and Industry and Deputy respectively.

Whereas a section of Ghanaians see the two as very emotional persons, others wonder if they can really work peacefully in that ministry considering how they both operate.

Member of Parliament(MP) for Tamale Central, Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed described them as a dangerous pair envisaging they could openly engage in fisticuffs if care is not taken.

When he said we should pray for KT Hammond and Stephen Amoah, my understanding of it is that we should pray they don’t exchange blows. These are two very complex individuals who are going to work together at the same ministry” the lawmaker observed on TV3.

KT Hammond weeps Judgement Debt Commission

The former Deputy Energy Minister during Ex-President Kufour’s era openly wept in 2013 while giving evidence regarding the whereabouts of US$3.5 million of US$24 million realised from the sale of a drillship in 2001.

With tears from his eyes, the former minister cried out at the commission which was headed by Justice Yaw Appau.

“My mother is dying because of this,” he openly wept which resulted in members of the committee becoming very emotional as a result.

He later claimed he never wept though the proceedings were live on TV.

“I never wept at that commission, I was just emotional…you should rather refer to the likes of Kwadwo Adu-Asare and the others who wept,” he noted.

MASLOC Boss Weeps over NDC, NPP Politics comparison

In 2020, Dr. Stephen Amoah said that any Christian who votes for John Dramani Mahama will have their values questioned.

According to him, the government of Akufo-Addo has performed beyond imagination and therefore needs to be given the opportunity to do more for Ghana in the impending election.

He said comparing the records of the two leading political parties in the country and their major achievements at transforming Ghana’s economy and providing sustainable opportunities, the NPP comes tops in all sectors; reason why the people of Ghana should rally behind the elephant fraternity.

“If we are comparing the two political parties in terms of development and if it is not about what you will eat or bringing in tribalism and others anyone who supports the NDC has their faith in Christ in doubt.” He said.

Before the host on Adom TV could ask further questions, Dr. Stephen Amoah got emotional and started weeping.

A sobbing MASLOC Boss said “Let’s put Ghana at heart. Let’s think about the poor. What we say about the government and country is unacceptable”.
