Green Ghana Project: Let’s come together to make Ghana green – Bono Regional Minister

The Bono regional Minister, Honorable Justina Owusu Banahene has informed Nananom and the entire citizenry within the Jaman North district to support the government in ensuring that the green Ghana project is achieved by planting more trees within the district and the region at large.

Honorable Justina Owusu Banahene made this assertion when she visited Nananom of the three Traditional councils within the Jaman North district on a one-day working visit to the district. She said the government has declared 10th June 20222 as green Ghana day which Bono region has targeted to plant over 2million trees hence ministry of lands has collaborated with the forestry commission to provide the needed seedlings to be planted all over the country stating that groups, institutions and Nananom will be more recognizable to be given the seedlings for planting than individuals.

She advised the groups, institutions and Nananom to get leaders who will ensure that the planted seedlings are protected from being deteriorated.

 

Upon visiting the Paramount Chief of Suma Traditional Council *Odeneho Dr. Afram Brempong III,* Nana indicated that education is very essential in the life of every individual and contributes a lot to the development of a nation therefore He has worked extremely hard with his elders to earn a branch campus of University of Energy and Natural Resources at Suma Ahenkro hence the regional minister must support the initiative to help brilliant but needy students within the District to get access to tertiary education.

He also pleaded with the regional minister to support sumaman in the construction of a theatre for Suma polyclinic to facilitate health delivery in the district.

Finally, the acting president for Sampa Traditional council who is also the paramount chief of Kokoa, a suburb of the Jaman North District Nana Kwakdwo Magsah II appealed to the regional minister to work in her capacity to bring back the contractors who are supposed to construct roads within Sampa township and others linking the District capital to the surrounding communities stating that the contractors came to some time ago and have since abandoned the roads which is affecting transportation and businesses within the district
