ENGAGE EXTENSION OFFERS FOR BETTER YIELD – URBANET TO KPANDAI FARMERS.

Mr Basit Jibreel Executive director, and Idrisu Adams project officer of Urbanet  whose main goal is to enhance productivity through Agriculture has encouraged the farmers to make time with the Agriculture extension officers for new and better methods of farming.

These was briefed at the workshop Organized to review on improvements of communities benefited under their initiatives to achieve positively in production in Kpandai. They pleaded with the farmers not to look down on training acquired from extension officers.

Agric Extension Consultant Dr Eliasu Mumuni from UDS urged farmers both men and women to take farming very serious as urbanet merged forces to rebrand Agriculture in both raining and dry seasons.

He added, urbanet has carefully weaved this initiative to educate the general populace especially farmers  on dozens of activities that hinders their total wellbeing in productivity and advised them to rely on the Agric extension officers for more details on climate changes to enable them acquire knowledge on crops suitable for the season.

Francis Mollin a beneficiary from Malando and Jagri Bafari from Samalido after putten the training and knowledge acquired  from Urbanet into practice after cultivating okoro  and other food crops in the dry season shared their success to encourage others.

 

According to them, they have made profits over Gh20.000 from the crops which has actually been a turnaround in their lives and therefore encourages others to emulate them.

Institution that rallied behind Urbanet in the district to combat problems facing humanity in Agriculture, includes Agriculture department,  District Planning Unit,Community Development and Social welfare, and RAINS.
