The General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has called on party supporters to unite and rally behind government and appointees to achieve the Break the 8 agenda.
Justin Kodua Frimpong who urged party members to settle their differences said national and regional executives have initiated plans to ensure the party remains united to win the 2024 elections.
He spoke on the sidelines of a reconciliation engagement to patch the cracks in the party in the Central region ahead of the 2024 general elections.
The event which is under the theme: Reconciling the rank and file of the New Patriotic Party in the Central region to break the 8 had MPs, former MPs, some former parliamentary, regional and constituency candidates, as well as former and current MMDCEs with former government appointees in attendance.
Leadership of the party are hopeful the move will in the end unite members to give the party victory in 2024.
“This is a very important initiative engineered by Chairman Kutin. As a party, there might be things that he said that didn’t go down well with others and vice versa. This is the reason why it is important to come together to unite going into elections 2024. We had so many seats in the Central region but due to disunity, we lost many seats. So we need to unite and get our seats back. That’s why Chairman Ntim, myself, our National Organizer, Women Organiser and all the national executives are here to ensure the Central region gets united,” he urged.
