Private legal practitioner Alexander Twum Barimah has urged the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to go for a different flagbearer other than Vice President Mahamadu Bawumia in the run up to the 2024 elections.
Speaking on Inside Politics on Power 97.9 FM, the social commentator lashed out at Bawumia for the economic woes of the country.
The NDC communication team member said as the head of the government economic management team, he has failed to stabilise the Cedi which has triggered an all time high inflation coupled with hardship.
He said the vice president cannot be an option after the tenure of President Akufo-Addo, adding that ” he is part of the mess.”
Currently, Ghana’s inflation rate has shot up from 37.2% in September to a whopping 40.4%, the highest in two decades.
October’s inflation rate was mainly driven by food price hikes, housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels.
