Sammy Gyamfi, the National Communications Director of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has described the Vice President of Ghana, Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia as the epitome of corruption.

Before Mr. Gyamfi’s assertion, a former Coach of Kumasi Asante Kotoka Sporting Club, Isaac “Opeele” Boateng had spoken highly of the Vice President.

The football manager described Dr. Bawumia as a clean person who hasn’t been involved in any corrupt dealings since he took office six years ago.

“6 years in office as a Vice President with no taint of corruption.

“Dr Mahamdu Bawumia – is as clean as his WHITE clothes,” he wrote in a tweet on Monday, March 6.

But in response to the “clean” tag on Veep, the opposition party’s spokesperson said the Vice President has proven to be corrupt.

He cited his (Dr. Bawumia) alleged involvement in the erstwhile Power Distribution Services’ scandal and payment of an appearance fee before one could be allowed to see him.

The stolen rice involving his office and others, Sammy Gyamfi said are evidence that the Vice President has injuries his image.

“On the contrary, Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia has proven to be very corrupt and has soiled the reputation of the high office he occupies.

“We’ve not forgotten the role he played in the PDS scam and the appearance fee scandal. Neither have we forgotten the role of his office in the stolen rice saga,” he said in response to coach Opeele.
