‘Autocrat’ Akufo-Addo Delaying 2023 Congress due to his Attention-seeking Insecurities — NPP man

A social media communicator of the New Patriotic Party Atick Yakubu has called President Akufo-Addo as an autocratic Democrat who loves attention and power and is blocking NPP Congress.

The President who is a accused of running the NPP government like a personal property is said to be opposing the holding of an early congress to elect a party flagbearer.

According to Atick Yakubu, Akufo-Addo has had his two terms but is now afraid that when a new candidate emerges, loyalty and attention will shift to the new leader.

“The President true to his words and actions is doing everything to prevent the party from having an early congress. You want to know why ? He thinks attention will shift from him to the Presidential candidate. People will switch their loyalty to the “New guy”. You can ask those around him why they don’t want an early congress and they will beat about the bush with plenty English and come to this same point.” The NPP activist wrote.

“You have had your two terms, you have run the government like it’s your personal property. In fact , I believe if he had the opportunity he would have changed the faces on our currencies to his . That’s how much he loves attention . “AUTOCRATIC  DEMOCRAT” he added.

The NPP is scheduled to meet to decide the date for the party’s parliamentary and Presidential primaries.

An earlier communicated date was said to be false as the party failed to reach any agreement after a marathon meeting over the matter.
