Afenyo-Markin gives new Minority Chief Whip Kwame Agbodza Baptism of fire

Member of Parliament (MP) for Effutu and Deputy Majority Leader Alexander Kwamena Afenyo-Markin clashed with the new National Democratic Congress (NDC) Minority Chief Whip Kwame Governs Agbodza, MP for Adaklu, during parliamentary proceedings Tuesday February 7, 2023.

The Honourable Afenyo-Markin accused the Adaklu MP, who had occupied the front seat as Chief Whip for the first time, of interjecting him as he made his presentation, advising the Honourable Agbodza to avoid his “back-bench” misconduct on the “frontbench”.

Agbodza’s response was inaudible since his microphone was off.

Agbodza replaced Mohammed Mabarik Muntaka in a sudden reshuffle of Parliamentary leadership that nearly plunged the NDC into chaos.

The new leadership – which has Cassiel Ato Forson as Minority Leader, Emmanuel Armah Kofi Buah as Deputy Minority Leader and Kwame Governs Agbodza as Chief Whip – steered the affairs of the NDC Minority for the very first time as Parliament started the Third Session of the Eighth Parliament Tuesday February 7, 2023.
